Ende Enat to open an Addis Ababa office in 2026
After years of work in Jimma, we are bringing our care for children on the streets and their mothers to the Asko and Addis Sefer areas of the capital.

When Ende Enat obtained its legal registration, the organisation proposed to operate in both Jimma City and Addis Ababa. Limited resources kept our programmes in Jimma — but our experience there has only strengthened our commitment to children who are exposed to street life and deprived of education, food, protection and basic opportunities.
In recent years we have observed an increasing number of very young children on the streets of Addis Ababa, spending their days beside mothers who beg to support their families. Some children begin accompanying their mothers from a very young age and gradually become accustomed to street life instead of attending school.
What we will do
- Identify children living or spending their days on the streets with their mothers in Asko and Addis Sefer.
- Help them access education and basic necessities, and strengthen child protection.
- Support vulnerable mothers with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Beginning in 2026 (2019 in the Ethiopian calendar) we will establish an office in Addis Ababa. Our long-term goal is to help children move away from street life and begging toward education, protection, dignity and a more secure future — while their mothers become economically self-reliant.
