Dozens of trained community volunteers make home visits, collect data, mobilise clothes and school supplies from neighbours and act as the first responders for families in crisis. Community committees in each kebele verify beneficiaries, coordinate care and take over programmes as they mature.
Where a guardian's home has become unsafe, we mobilise resources to renovate it, and we facilitate access to government housing for the most vulnerable families.
Students and interns from Jimma University and volunteers from abroad join us for painting days, tutoring and health outreach, bringing skills and friendship.
